Gingerbread Sugar Scrub

This Gingerbread Sugar Scrub is such an easy and fun DIY beauty recipe and makes a great gift too!

I think it was 6th grade when everyone and their BFF wanted to smell like a vanilla dessert. Bath & Body Works probably had Vanilla Sugar, Vanilla Cupcake, Vanilla Cookie, and Vanilla Ice Cream body sprays all on the same shelf.

And a lot of preteen girls sprayed themselves with it until their parents couldn’t breathe.

But we’re grown up now and there’s a new sweet scent in town, Gingerbread. I love LOVE LOVE gingerbread.

And since I’m older, I’ve moved on from body spray and into the world of great smelling exfoliators like this here Whipped Gingerbread Sugar Scrub.

This is seriously the best sugar scrub I’ve ever used and it makes for an awesome last minute gift for your girlfriends, sisters, or mom!

The best part about this scrub? There’s no need for any crazy essential oils, everything you need is right in your pantry! Awesome, right?

Or you know, keep it for yourself… you deserve it after all of this holiday craziness.

This will be my last post before Christmas, but before I sign off I want to wish all of you a wonderful couple of days whether you’re celebrating or not!

I’m looking forward to a little time away from my day job and the blog to enjoy some family time.

I’ll be making my signature Bourbon & Toffee Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies, Baked Spinach & Artichoke Dip, and my Christmas Punch recipe for the holiday and I’ll be back on Friday to kick off the final week of the year with some killer cupcakes!

What You’ll Need For This Sugar Scrub Recipe:

  • Cute Jar – If you’re planning on packaging this recipe up and giving it as gifts, cute jars are an absolute must! These cute little Weck jars are my favorite, but These Kate Aspen Jars are great too!
  • Spoon – Tie a wooden spoon to the jar so it’s easier to get the sugar scrub out.
  • Bakers Twine – I like using twine to dress them up for holiday gift giving!
  • Gift Tags – These tags are such an adorable way to mark your scrubs as gifts!
  • Coconut Oil – There are a lot of different coconut oils out there, you’ll want to use a cold-pressed refined coconut oil, this means it doesn’t have a coconut scent or flavor to it.
  • Gingerbread Fragrance Oil – For a really strong and amazing scent, you’ll want to use a few drops of fragrance oil, I love this fragrance oil set, so many amazing scents and you can use them to make my Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub too!

Whipped Gingerbread Sugar Scrub

Treat your skin to a holiday treat with this Whipped Gingerbread Sugar Scrub! Everything you need is already in your pantry making it the perfect last minute gift!

  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 5 to 8 drops gingerbread fragrance oil
  1. Combine sugars and coconut oil in the bowl of a stand mixer and beat with a whisk or paddle attachment until a fluffy paste starts to form.

  2. Scrape down sides and add in vanilla, spices and fragrance oil. Beat on low until spices work their way into the mix, increase to medium speed and beat for 30 seconds or until light and fluffy.

  3. Transfer to a jar and seal with a lid. Dress it up if giving as a gift. Use within a month with hot water and gently exfoliate skin.

The original recipe did not call for fragrance oil, just the spices, but you can add the fragrance oil for an even stronger scent.

Are You My Mother? Baby Shower Game Printable

This “Are You My Mother?” game is one of the easiest ways to bring fun to a baby shower! Complete with adorable graphics and colors, all you need is a printer and some ink to set this activity up.

When planning a baby shower for yourself or a loved one, searching “Baby Shower Game Printable” online can yield some great results. You’ll find baby shower bingos, word scrambles, and mommy Mad Libs to suit any shower style.

My personal favorites are brain teasers that are fun to figure out with family and friends. Of course, the winner gets a prize!

The person who has the highest number of correct titles once the time is up wins!

This Are You My Mother? Baby Shower Game Printable is a classic party game with even more animals and is always a hit!

This Are You My Mother? Printable Baby Shower Game is fun, festive, and totally FREE! Plus, it’s super tricky and may stump even the brainiest shower attendees … unless one of your guests is a zoologist.

Designed especially for Sugar & Soul, this puzzle is one that guests have never seen before. And players who don’t know all the answers (which I guarantee is almost everyone) will learn something new!

Tips For Playing Are You My Mother? Baby Shower Game:

Have everyone start with their game sheet face down. This gives everyone a fair chance to compete!

Don’t forget the pens!

Time the game. This one might really depend on your audience, but I think 3 minutes is a good time for this game. With 5 minutes almost everyone will have filled out the sheet.

Have fun! Because that’s the important part!

Things To Know About This Baby Shower Game Printable:

It was designed to be printed on 8.5×11-inch sheets of paper. I like printing mine out on cardstock because it’s sturdier than regular paper and helps the colors pop.

The printable game sheet and answer key are two separate files, so make sure you get both, I did it this way so it was easier to print multiples of the game and just one of the answer key.

Once everyone has their cards filled out, you can announce the answers. The one who has the most correct gets a special treat!

This Travel Themed Nursery is filled with simple and stylish inspiration for a baby girl's room! With custom pieces, modern furniture, and global decor!

Travel Themed Nursery

Evie is 6 months old and sleeping in her room, so I thought it was time to share her Travel Themed Nursery with all of you.

It was a labor of love, lots of internet searching, and literally traveling the globe to put it together, but I’m so in love with this room.

It’s my favorite in the house!

Mother and daughter standing by crib in travel inspired nursery.

Before I was even pregnant (like years before), I began collecting items from my travels for our one day Travel Themed Nursery.

Maybe that seems a little insane, but I knew the theme I wanted, regardless of gender.

Originally, I had planned to keep things very gender neutral with the decor.

I had purchased a print in Vienna, Austria in December 2017 that I thought would be the focal point of the room. But it just didn’t feel right when it came time to start bringing my vision to life.

Woman in a white dress with dark hair holding a baby in a travel inspired nursery

When we made it through the first trimester, we purchased the Babyletto Lolly 3-in-1 Crib, Babyletto Lolly Dresser, and Graco Premium Foam Mattress.

A few weeks later I found the end table (Similar) and Project 62 Ceramic Lamp and the room really started getting a foundation.

The stuffed Llama is from Hobby Lobby.

Then it was time to choose a paint color.

This was so much harder than I thought it would be. We had to choose a color before we knew what we were having because it was the only time our painter could fit us in.

We ended up going with Kind Green by Sherwin Williams and I really really really love it! In fact, I loved it so much we painted our bathroom the same color!

It’s such a nice color because of its beautiful blue and green hues that tend to change with the lighting. And I liked that it’s a cooler color with warm tones and it was really easy to decorate around!

This Travel Themed Nursery is filled with simple and stylish inspiration for a baby girl's room! With custom pieces, modern furniture, and global decor!

The next piece I found was the rocking chair.

Guys, nursery rocking chairs are hella expensive, like I couldn’t believe that many of them were more than her crib. And I just couldn’t bring myself to pull the trigger on one.

For a while, I just told myself I could do without one. But then, like most things in my house, I was shopping at Marshall’s and this beautiful beast was just sitting there in all its glory.

Faux Sheepskin and wooden rocking chair in a baby nursery with a knitted blanket and pink pillow on it.

It was so comfortable.

And I really kind of loved it.

But, there was the obvious.

It’s faux sheepskin…

In a nursery…

Would it be crazy?

Probably.

But then a woman walked by me and looked at me and said, “honey, you need that chair in your life – it’s amazing.”

Then I brought it home and it was the joke of the family for like 3 weeks and I told everyone I would just return it.

But I couldn’t bring myself to do it and I’m so glad I didn’t because this chair is where I read to Evie before and after she was born, it’s where I pump, and it’s where I escape to when I just need 5 minutes of reflection.

Also, I super love the wooden frame so if the sheepskin ever does get to crumby, I will just reupholster it.

You can find a similar chair here. The Pleated Velvet Round Throw Pillow is from Target and they have a few other colors too.

Baby girl's travel inspired nursery.

Then I finally found this Pillowfort Pink Braided Rug at Target and it was a great inspirational piece for the accent colors of the room.

It’s hard to tell online and in pictures, but it has two shades of pink, mint, yellow, white, and purple in it.

Acrylic bookshelf with children's books on it.

One of our first projects was putting the bookshelves up.

These Acrylic Book Shelves are behind her door and it seemed like a great way to utilize unused space since there is 6-inches between the wall and door.

This Travel Themed Nursery is filled with simple and stylish inspiration for a baby girl's room! With custom pieces, modern furniture, and global decor!

It was a little nervewracking to put holes in the wall because it meant we were really committing.

But I’m so happy with how they turned out.

And they actually hold a ton of books! I’m guessing we have about 25 books on them most of the time.

I found this World Map Print by Alice Tait at TJ Maxx and fell in love with it. I had it custom framed at Hobby Lobby and had expected it to be the focal point of the room.

It turned out beautiful but I was still feeling a little uninspired by room. I thought about just doing hot air balloons or something, but nothing really felt right.

Then came 3,459,627,839 hours of searching the internet and then I finally found them!

I have never been a big “name-over-the-crib” person. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it, it’s just never really been something that I’ve wanted to do.

But I really wanted the over the crib art/focal point to be something really unique. It took awhile, but when I found these Travel Cross-stitch Patterns on Etsy, I was instantly in love.

Travel themed nursery

Travel Inspired Hoop Art

However, I don’t know how to cross-stitch and I had absolutely no idea the number of hours it would take to complete these.

But my nana’s best friend/honorary aunt offered to do them for me and I will forever be grateful to her for making these for my sweet girl and really bringing her nursery to life!

I thought about framing them in square frames but we ultimately decided to do hoop art with them in 14-inch hoops.

Here are some close ups of each one! Which one is your favorite? Mine is Hawaii!

She also made a birth sampler to match. However, I didn’t photograph it because we’re keeping Evie’s middle name private.

But aren’t these hoop art pieces just gorgeous? I am so in love with them and they make me smile every time I walk in the room!

Woman in white dress holding baby girl in front of a crib

I love hot air balloons and they were a big part of my baby shower. Check out my Free Printable Hot Air Balloon Favors!

And I absolutely adore the Hot Air Balloon Mobile we picked for the nursery.

Felt hot air balloon mobile for nursery

The rest of the decor was pieced together from my travels as well as stores.

I really wanted some shelving that could be used for decor pieces that wouldn’t really be play pieces for a couple of years.

I finally saw these IKEA Ekby Wood Brackets and White Press Board Shelves used by another blogger in her nursery and knew they would match perfectly with the wood and white of our nursery furniture.

Travel inspired nursery decorations on shelves

Global Decor and Personal Touches

Matt and I always had a feeling that we’d have girls, so I got a little brave with some of my purchases abroad like the doll I got in Bratislava, Slovakia and the carved wooden wand I got in Strasbourg, France.

The globe is from Hobby Lobby, the stand was black but my mother spray painted it for me to better match the room. The maracas are something I purchased just a couple of weeks ago in Puerto Rico.

Travel inspired decor on shelf for nursery

The hand-carved flamingo was one of the things I brought back for her from The Dominican Republic a couple of weeks ago.

The Puffin Classics Book Collection was purchased on Amazon and the succulent holder is something I found at Marshall’s but you can get a similar one on Amazon.

Rainbow books and plant holder on shelf in baby nursery

The piggy bank was another TJ Maxx find, but you can find a similar one at Walmart.

The corgi was something I bought at Windsor Castle during my trip to England in April 2017 (it even has a little crown – not pictured).

The wooden camera was a gift from my high school best friend – isn’t it the cutest? You can get them in a number of colors on Amazon!

And This Little Explorer is one of my favorite books to read Evie! I’ll be doing a full post on my favorite Baby Books soon!

Travel decor on shelf in nursery

The last bit of shelf decor includes one of my photos from Luna Park in Sydney, Australia taken in June 2017. The frame is from TJ Maxx

The little turtle toy was purchased in Bratislava, Slovakia during my trip there in December 2017.

And even though I had purchased several nesting doll sets for friends and family during my travels, I had never thought to get one for myself.

I was actually really sad about this when it came time to decorate the nursery. Luckily, I found this Matryoshka Nesting Dolls on Amazon and even luckier, my friend Courtney was traveling through Czechia last summer and sent me another little doll from Prague!

Travel inspired decor for baby nursery

I plan to continue to add pieces to Evie’s room from my and our travels together.

And I hope one day each piece is a reminder of that fact that no matter where I am, I will always be thinking of her.

Woman holding baby girl in travel inspired nursery

The final pieces of decor are prints of photos I took in Conca dei Marini, Italy and Bondi Beach, Australia hung up with Hanging Wooden Magnetic Frames.

This Travel Themed Nursery is filled with simple and stylish inspiration for a baby girl's room! With custom pieces, modern furniture, and global decor!

I originally wasn’t going to add any of my photos to her room. However, my mother told me it would be a real shame if I didn’t.

And it really would have been, because I love the personal touch it adds to the Travel Themed Nursery.

Completing the room for furniture is a pink storage ottoman, rope baskets, and a white Utility Cart.

The cart in her room houses diapers, wipes, my breast pump, and other items. We also have one in the bathroom too for her towels, bath toys, and toiletries.

Woman reading book to her baby daughter in rocking chair.

Also, my dress is from Amazon, I originally bought it for our Gender Reveal Photos but went with something else.

So there you have it, our baby girl’s Travel Themed Nursery. What do you think?

I know that she will never appreciate all of the tiny details, but I’m glad I still did them.

And I can’t wait to show this little lady all there is to see in this beautiful world we live in.

But for now, we’ll explore from the corners of her pretty nursery!

Cranberry Lemonade & Baby’s First Beach Day

$

One of the best parts about having a baby is all the exciting “firsts,” from words to foods and holidays! Since my daughter, Evie was born last September, this summer she had her very first beach day!

Admittedly, heading to the beach with a 10-month-old in tow is a bit more work than it used to be.

This post was created in partnership with Stop & Shop, all opinions and experiences are 100% my own.

Beach picnic spread with food, napkins, books, and beach toys.

To make matters even trickier, we wanted to head out of state to Hampton Beach in New Hampshire. It’s buzzing with attractions, shops, and restaurants — I knew it would be worth the trip!

So, my husband Matt and I decided to make it easier on ourselves by packing light and planning a trip to Stop & Shop on the way. And take it from me, guys: it was a smart move.

Woman carrying grocery bags out of a Stop & Shop grocery store.

Before arriving at our destination, we pulled into the nearest Stop & Shop in Amesbury, Massachusetts. It’s about 15-20 minutes from Hampton Beach, and it was totally worth the trip.

Not only were we able to load up the cooler with convenient lunch and snack items, but this store also had all the essentials we needed to enjoy a relaxing beach day!

Colorful beach chair with a reusable Stop & Shop grocery bag on it.

Stop & Shop has everything from beach chairs, to books, to swim diapers … and yep, we picked up all three.

We even grabbed a little lounge chair just for Evie! And we couldn’t resist treating her to a couple of new beach toys, as well.

Plate with pasta salad, wrap, and potato chips on a picnic blanket.

Of course, we also had to stock up our cooler for lunch, drinks, and snacks for the day. And you know me — we couldn’t forget about dessert!

Pre-sliced fruit and pre-made sandwiches made for an easy beach picnic, plus everything was deliciously fresh. We also snagged some chips, waters, and gourmet brownie cupcakes from the Stop & Shop bakery!

If you are more of a plan-ahead beachgoer, I recommend picking up the ingredients the day before to make my Sweet Broccoli Salad, Club Sandwiches, and Rice Krispie Treats to bring along to the beach!

Family of three enjoying a picnic on the beach in the summer.

Since I knew it was going to be a scorcher, I concocted a refreshing Sparkling Cranberry Lemonade recipe. It’s so easy, it can be mixed up right on the beach, and it’s made with ingredients I scooped up at the store!

Plus, it tastes like New England summer in a glass: cranberries are a local staple, and nothing says “summertime” like lemonade! With a splash of club soda for some light fizz, this bubbly beverage is perfect to sip by the water.

Check out Stop & Shop’s Savory for more great summer drink recipes!

Cranberry Lemonade is an easy, 3-ingredient recipe for summertime and holidays. Add sparkling water or club soda for a bubbly finish!

How To Make Easy Cranberry Lemonade

  1. Fill a cup with ice.
  2. Add equal parts cranberry juice and lemonade.
  3. Top with a splash of club soda.

We arrived at Hampton Beach with baby, beach bags, and cooler in tow. Thanks to our grocery store stop, we had everything we needed to enjoy the sun, surf, and sand!

As for Evie, I think it’s safe to say she had a blast on her very first beach day.

Baby girl eating watermelon at the beach.

She snacked on some juicy pre-cut watermelon until it dribbled down her bathing suit (good thing it’s waterproof, right?). She also loved playing in the sand with her new shovel and ball.

As for me, I got a head start on the new book I bought on our store run. Reading, spending time with family, snacking, and sipping on Cranberry Lemonade … it was a good day.

Woman sitting in a beach chair reading and drinking a lemonade.

Needless to say, Stop & Shop made the entire trip go so much smoother.

There was so little prep before we left the house because we got everything at the store on the way. That means less time spent packing and more time with family — I’ll take that any day!

Mother and infant daughter having a picnic on the beach.

Now that we’ve had a first beach trip with a baby, I’d like to pass some tips along.

Baby Beach Tips:

  • Keep It Simple:
    • Don’t overdo it or make elaborate plans; they won’t go as expected! If you’re driving an hour or two to get to the coast, I wouldn’t suggest making any unnecessary detours.
    • Don’t spend hours packing a gourmet picnic; this was one of the biggest ways Stop & Shop saved us time. Also, don’t stress if things get messy, because after all, you’re headed to the beach! Bring premade foods, embrace the juice stains, and try to enjoy it!
  • Keep It Short:
    • One to two hours of fun in the sun is usually plenty for a baby, so don’t expect to spend the entire day at the beach. I’d suggest leaving once your little one gets fussy, otherwise, the rest of your stay will be miserable for everyone!
  • Keep Some Distance:
    • If possible, find an open spot that gives you some space from fellow beachgoers and is a ways from the water. Not only is this important for safety, if your youngster starts crying, but you also won’t have to worry too much about disrupting your neighbors.

Kids love making messes! It’s part of how they learn, experiment, and test boundaries! Well, even parents will love this easy to clean Bath Paint made with just 3 ingredients you likely already have in your pantry!

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been trying to come up with new, easy, and cheap ways to entertain my toddler! And since we’re trying not to make special trips to the store, I’ve been trying to use things that we already have here at home! This Bath Paint for Toddlers was so easy to make and my daughter had a blast playing with it!

What’s In It?

The “paint” mixture is made with baby/kids shampoo and cornstarch. I use Honest Company Sweet Orange Vanilla Baby Wash because it smells amazing and it’s what we use anyway, but you can use whatever kind you want!

You’ll also want to use some food coloring. I used this set of Neon Food Coloring – I only needed one to two drops of color for 1/2 cup of the mixture. You could also use Nature’s Inspirations Food Coloring that’s made from plants.

Ingredients to make kids bath paint on a white table.

How To Make It:

This part is super easy, you’re simply just going to mix the two main ingredients together. Then you can divide it up into dishes or containers and mix in the food coloring.

I like using these Plastic Jars with Lids because I don’t have to worry about breaking if my daughter drops it and I can easily seal up whatever remains for another time!

Will It Stain?

As I said before, I only used 1 or 2 drops for each color and we did not experience any staining on the bath or skin, but there is always a chance that any fabric could stain, so use old clothes or use them in the actual bath. 🙂

Small jars of paint stacked on top of each other with a rubber ducky and paint brushes sitting next to them on a white table.

Does It Clean Off Easily?

Yes, it does! It will sort of harden/stick after it’s been painted on, but a damp towel takes it right off – plus it’s made with soap, so it’s a great activity to do if you have to clean the tub anyway 😉

How Long Does It Last?

If you don’t use it all at once, you can store it in an air-tight jar for up to 1 month.

I love this easy DIY activity because anyone can make it, you don’t have to have a crafty bone in your body to enjoy some creative playtime with your kiddos! You can use Paint Brushes or you can have the kids use their fingers!

This would make a great DIY party favor or activity for birthday parties! Seriously, this is such a fun thing to do – my daughter absolutely loved it!

These Homemade Frozen Dog Treats are made with greek yogurt, peanut butter, and bananas to make a chilled treat your pup can cool down with!

Give your favorite four-legged friend another homemade treat like these baked Peanut Butter Pup-kin Homemade Dog Treats or Apple & Peanut Butter Pupcakes that are ready in 45 minutes!

Homemade Peanut Butter Banana Frozen Dog Treats are a great way to trade in those store-bought dog bones for a homemade dog-safe treat! These frozen banana treats are basically an ice cream dessert for your fur-baby that will have them licking your face to say thank you!

We humans can reach for a glass of ice-cold Homemade Sweet Tea or sip on a Chocolate Milkshake (Thick and Rich) when the hot summer days leave us a sweaty mess. But options for our furry friends are pretty limited!

This is why I made an easy 3-ingredient frozen dog treat recipe! They take just 10 minutes to make and a couple of hours to freeze before your feeding one to your dog!

Close up photo of frozen dog treats in a dog dish.

Ingredient Notes

This super easy Homemade Frozen Dog Treat Recipe has minimal ingredients while still delivering big flavor to your sweet pup! I find I get the perfect consistency for these treats when I put all of the ingredients into my food processor.

The dog treat mixture just comes out a lot more smooth! To freeze up a batch you’ll need:

  • Greek Yogurt – I recommend sticking with plain Greek yogurt.
  • Banana – Mashed.
  • Peanut Butter – I used Jif Creamy Peanut Butter. When choosing a peanut butter to use just be sure to stay away from ones that have xylitol listed as an ingredient as it’s not safe for dogs to consume!

You’ll also need some silicone molds, I used these ones but if you have a big dog you may want to get bigger molds. You could also just use any silicone molds you may have on hand regardless of their shape, even an ice cube tray!

After all, dogs aren’t even concerned about the shape of their treats! All they care about is how delicious they are!

How To Make Homemade Frozen Dog Treats

  1. Combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Mix the dog treat mixture together thoroughly.
  3. Scoop the mixture into silicone molds. Making sure to firmly press the treat mixture into the molds so they’re nice and full.
  4. Scrape the top of the molds with a knife or bench scraper to remove any excess mixture. Place them in the freezer for 2 hours before offering one to your pup!

Frequently Asked Questions

How To Store

Once the treats have been frozen pop them out of the mold and place them in a Ziploc freezer bag. Squeeze out the excess air and store them in the freezer for up to 6 months.

How Many Frozen Treats Can I Give My Dog A Day?

Depending on the size of the treats you could offer your dog 1 to 2 per day. But if you’re unsure the best bet would be to check with your pet’s veterinarian!

How Ripe Should The Bananas Be?

I like to use fairly ripened bananas. The riper the banana the sweeter the treat!

Dogs love the delicious peanut buttery goodness that are in these Homemade Frozen Dog Treats! But they certainly aren’t the only ones that love a good peanut buttery dessert! Here are some tasty desserts to make for yourself while the dog treats are in the freezer setting up!

Magic Reindeer Food & Poem is a simple and fun Christmas tradition! Make it in minutes with pantry staples and snag these FREE printable poem labels to package it up for the kids to spread on the lawn to guide Rudolph and Santa to your house on Christmas Eve!

So make a batch of Hot Cocoa and Sugar Cookies and prepare your reindeer food!

Overhead photo of bags of magic reindeer food on a red table with fake snow and paper reindeer.

I’ve been wanting to post this Magic Reindeer Food recipe and poem since the first Christmas I was blogging.

But every year it seems I run out of time, and looky here, It’s getting posted as my last Christmas post this year. But hey, at least I’m finally posting it, right?

Close up photo of bags of reindeer food on a wooden tray with paper reindeer around them.

And I know this isn’t a new idea, if you’re around my age, you probably grew up sprinkling Magic Reindeer Food on your lawns on Christmas Eve.

It was one of my favorite things to do, and now each year I try to make up little containers of Magic Reindeer Food to give to all the little kids in my life. And one day, it’s a tradition we’ll carry on with our own children.

Magic Reindeer Food Poem

For those of you who are new to the idea of Magic Reindeer Food, read this poem that’s included on the free printable tags that go with this recipe:

Under the stars of Christmas Eve night,

This Magic Reindeer Food will sparkle bright.

In guiding Rudolph to your house,

You’ll have to be as quick as a mouse.

Go outside and sprinkle it on your lawn,

And Santa will visit before it’s dawn.

Close up photo of bags of magic reindeer food with a label with the Christmas Eve poem on it.

When I was a child we always opened our Christmas Eve present, got into our pajamas, set out some milk and cookies, then sprinkled the Magic Reindeer Food on the lawn right before bed.

It was always fun and exciting thinking about how Rudolph was on his way and I was lending a helping hand.

So I encourage you to mix up this easy recipe for Magic Reindeer Food and package it up for your children and other neighborhood kiddos. And keep this simple tradition alive. The recipe itself can, of course, be altered, since Reindeer aren’t too picky.

But keep in mind that you don’t want to include anything in the recipe that could be dangerous to animals like dried fruit, chocolate, glitter, etc. Stick with things like oats, nuts, and sugar-based products that will dissolve easily.

Materials Needed:

How To Make Magic Reindeer Food Bags

Begin by printing your labels on cardstock and cutting them out, then mix together the reindeer food itself in a large bowl.

Make sure when you print your labels that you print the page at 100%. Don’t check “fit to scale” or whatever it may say in the print dialog. The labels were designed specifically for the 4×9.5-inch cello bag size.
